Make teaching about feelings fun with this set of whimsical elves. They grin, grimace, groan and gesture through 20 emotions to help children learn how to identify and express such different feelings as pride, anger, excitement and disappointment. Each bright, full-color elf appears on two cards; one is printed with the emotion's name in three languages--English, Spanish and Japanese. The corresponding cards use only the elves, so the cards can be used in a wide variety of matching games. You can play Old Maid, Go Fish--or one of the several special emotions games created by Crary. Each game is described on its own reference card. "Engaging" and "Fun" are how parents describe these cards, which provide a balance of comfortable and uncomfortable feelings as well as illustrating intense, moderate and mild emotions. An excellent companion to The Way I Feel, page 38, our "Dealing with Feelings" series, pages 42-43, and our other books on emotions (see pages 38-45). Ideal for use in emotional literacy lessons, in rehabilitation therapy and in foreign language and English as a Second Language classes. Appropriate for both genders and all ethnic groups.
