Footprints in Time, the first novel in the Stillwater Bend series explores the turbulent decade before World War Two and the rise of Adolf Hitler - a time when devotion and boldness were keys to survival. It is the gripping story of three young women who in 1937 are invited by their grandmother Emma, to visit her relatives in Berlin, Germany before they accept employment in a small Georgia town. While in Germany, the Americans have the opportunity to experience the rise of Adolf Hitler and the political upheaval and turmoil experienced and questioned by Emma's German relatives. Returning to Georgia, the young women are troubled and saddened by their experiences overseas and are anxious to get on with their lives, appreciating that America is a world away from the turmoil. The three settle in Stillwater Bend, a small town in the foothills of the north Georgia Mountains. However, they quickly realize some of the same men they encountered on their travels have found their way to the small town. This is a poignant story of Katherine, Helen, and Molly, the three young women first encountered in the Davis Chronicles and about their struggles and challenges. It is also about the men who they meet and love in the small town of Stillwater Bend.
