In the fashionable circles of high society in London and in the countryside, in drawing rooms, at routs and balls, and the assembly rooms of Almack's, this couple, kept apart by secrets, lies and circumstances, but always with thoughts of each other, seek to be together again. First published in 1826, Granby was fortunate enough to be reprinted on other occasions, and could perhaps be considered a classic in what is known as the Silver Fork genre that was popular in the latter part of the Regency era and focused on the lives of aristocratic and fashionable society.
