Marie Benedict, seudónimo de Heather Terrell, es una escritora y abogada estadounidense nacida en Pittsburgh en 1973. Tras más de una década como litigante en Nueva York, se dedicó a la ficción histórica con el propósito de rescatar las historias de mujeres notables que han sido olvidadas por la historia oficial. Graduada en Historia y Arte por Boston College y en Derecho por la Universidad de Boston, Benedict ha centrado su obra en figuras femeninas influyentes pero poco reconocidas.
