Sir Richard J. Evans (nacido el 29 de septiembre de 1947 en Woodford, Londres) es un historiador británico especializado en la historia de Alemania en los siglos XIX y XX. Fue profesor de Historia en el Birkbeck College de la Universidad de Londres (1989-1998) y, posteriormente, catedrático de Historia Moderna en la Universidad de Cambridge (1998-2014). En 2012, fue nombrado caballero por sus contribuciones a la investigación histórica.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentra la trilogía sobre el Tercer Reich: "La llegada del Tercer Reich" (2005), "El Tercer Reich en el poder" (2007) y "El Tercer Reich en guerra" (2011). Además, ha publicado "La lucha por el poder: Europa 1815-1914" (2017) y "Hitler y las teorías de la conspiración: El Tercer Reich y la imaginación paranoide" (2021). Estas obras, enmarcadas en el género de la historia política, ofrecen un análisis profundo de la Alemania nazi y la Europa moderna.
