Escritora estadounidense, Genevieve Gornichec reside en Cleveland, Ohio. Se formó en Historia en la Ohio State University y desde siempre ha sentido gran interés por los vikingos, materia en la que se ha especializado por su cuenta.

Fue precisamente su pasión por los mitos nórdicos, así como por las sagas islandesas, lo que la inspiraron a la hora de escribir la que sería su primera novela, El corazón de la bruja.

Su debut, que vio la luz en castellano en 2022, se basa en una antigua historia de la mitología nórdica y tiene por protagonista a Angrboda, una bruja que es condenada a la hoguera por Odín tras haberse negado a contarle el futuro.
