Reseña del libro "A Treat Not Known Before: German-American Poetic Dialogues in Ancient Rhythms (en Inglés)"

Beautiful ancient Greek and Roman song forms have come alive-and why? Because two modern poets-German and American-were determined to make it happen. Two languages, one form. A dialogue of two spirits who couldn't be more different shows what unifies humanity: friendship. Martin Bidney is 74, Philipp Restetzki is 30. For two years they corresponded in classical odes, filling the ancient forms with thoughts about their lives and those of poets gone before - American, German, Greek, Roman, Egyptian. Two personalities are unfolded for you along with the variety of the two poets' likings and experience, shifting moods and penetrating thoughts, and contrasting attitudes and outlooks, too. Philipp appears at times the lyrical romantic nature-hiker, Martin as the bifocal-Buddhist, gazing while the world retreats. You never can tell what the next episode or topic will be.
