Truman Capote (1924-1984) fue un escritor, periodista y guionista estadounidense, reconocido por su estilo innovador y su capacidad para mezclar la literatura con el periodismo. Su obra más influyente es A sangre fría (1966), considerada una de las primeras novelas de no ficción, en la que narra el asesinato de una familia en Kansas.

Entre sus otras obras destacadas se encuentran Desayuno en Tiffany’s (1958), novela corta que inspiró la famosa película del mismo nombre, y Otras voces, otros ámbitos (1948), su debut literario. Capote escribió principalmente novelas, cuentos y crónicas de investigación, caracterizadas por su profundidad psicológica y su prosa elegante. Su legado sigue vigente en la literatura contemporánea.
