Thus, the dilemma of communities that "have" and "have not" is a concern that many have attempted to solve. While a solution exists, it was unavailable to several generations of his family and neighbors who resided in this environment. Access to capital would have made a world of difference. As one of the fortunate few who transcended an undercapitalized community and went to college, Powell devoted himself to a career in finance. Specifically, to address the plight of underfunded communities throughout the nation. His goal as a scholar, financial professional, and Black man was to become a creditable voice on this topic and speak from a prudent point of view.Powell's research indicates a way forward, a cohesive and applicable method to bridge capital into communities that need it the most. He has devised a blueprint for bridging capital that can be applied methodically in any town or city while being customized within unique regional, political, and governmental realities.
