Sayaka Murata (Chiba, Japón, 1979) es una de las autoras más influyentes de la literatura japonesa contemporánea, conocida por desafiar las normas sociales y explorar la identidad, la soledad y los roles de género. Su consagración internacional llegó con La dependienta (Convenience Store Woman, 2016), que recibió el prestigioso Premio Akutagawa y fue traducido a más de treinta idiomas.
