Roni's private issues with body image are pressed by the former beauty queen who is now her aide. Joe Malinkavich is back from Afghanistan where he served as a medic. Dealing with PTSD, Joe is an emergency responder for the fire department. Both Roni and Joe want a relationship, but find obstacles. When they are confronted with the issues of life in a visit at a VA Hospital, they set new priorities. This book explores the issues of PTSD, body image, challenges of urban education, autistic children, foster care and forgiveness. Written as a light romance, the novel also has an inspirational focus that will feed the soul as well as the mind.
