This book is not a contribution to the cultivated liberal horn-rimmed glasses-Montepulciano-center. It is an attack on it. While the political landscape settles into technocratic platitudes and the status quo is sold as having no alternative, this work puts its finger on the sore spot: Who really benefits from "practical constraints"? Who defines what is considered reasonable-and who pays the price for this reasonableness?
