Reseña del libro "The Goliath (en Inglés)"
"Are you looking for your friend?"With these words the greatest adventure of their lives begins.Best friends Hudson, whose WWI veteran father recently took his own life due to PTSD, and Jimmy are two young teenagers in London during the Blitz who are inexplicably transported to Berlin by a mystical subway train named the Goliath. There they encounter Kelly, a Jewish girl hiding her true identity after her parents disappear following the horrific events of Kristallnacht. Together, Hudson and Kelly have to find a way to break Jimmy out of a Berlin jail before he is handed over to the dreaded Gestapo.Despite their young ages, the three teens once reunited find themselves further dragged into the war effort after crossing paths with the elite German paratrooper Oberleutnant Heinrich Schmitt. Hungry for glory, after his diminished role in the attack on the Belgian fortress of Eben-Emael, the Goliath provides him with the perfect opportunity for an audacious plan to defeat England in one fell swoop. He hopes to use the Goliath to assassinate Winston Churchill in his secret underground war rooms. However, since Hudson's mother works there as a typist, this scheme places her directly in the line of fire. With no one else to help him foil Schmitt's plot besides his two friends, Hudson must now find a way to return to London and save not only his beloved mother's life, but also his very country from complete Nazi domination. This young adult historical fiction novel with mystical elements is sure to entertain and excite everyone who reads it. The teenage protagonists travel from London to Berlin to Paris and back to London. Along the way, they find allies and enemies, both of which pop up in unexpected places. Briskly paced and teeming with historical details, The Goliath is certain to find an audience with both young boys and girls who are looking for a engrossing tale of adventure.
