At an early age, during their development of cognitive skills, children develop a sense of curiosity about the world around them...God's creation. It is important that, as adults, we satisfy their curiosity and foster their development of analytical reasoning/critical thinking skills. This requires a sacrifice of time to search for and make available to children age- and content-appropriate educational materials that will enhance their individual mental capacity. The time to influence a child's development is today...tomorrow may be a day too late; however, better late than never. The value of providing a nourishing and conducive learning environment for children is immeasurable. My personal experience at 4 years old has been instrumental in helping me attain many of my professional goals in life. My preschool education has propelled me to reach educational goals beyond my imagination. My parents' desire to provide me with educational opportunities not generally available in my childhood community is admirable. I hope that this book will serve to inspire you, as parents, to cultivate and fulfill the curiosity inherent in your children...read to them and provide them with challenging reading material.
