This is a book of stories. They are stories about people who lived in ancient times and whose biographies are told in the Bible. But in Witness: the Early Years, these stories are told in such a way that you have never before heard. In the book, author Donald Rhody asks questions such as: Why was eating of the tree of knowledge a sin?-Did God originally intend to keep us in ignorance? Cain brought a work of his own hands as an offering to God. Why did God not accept it? Who were the real "tormented souls" of Sodom and Gomorrah? What was the sound of battle that Joshua heard but Moses did not? The New Testament book of Hebrews tells us that "we are surrounded by a great crowd of witnesses." These are those ancient ones of the faith that have lived in the past and whose lives have much to teach us. Witness-the Early Years is a book about some of these people of the "great cloud." Their stories as told in this book puts you in their sandals and helps you understand their struggles. In learning about their efforts in dealing with life issues, we are also helped with our own.
